Meet Co-Host Sarah Lawrence
Sarah, a dental hygienist from the Midwest, has been a practicing dental hygienist for over 10 years. She currently works part-time in a large pediatric office. In addition to dental hygiene, she also practices Myofunctional Therapy. She enjoys working with children to help them achieve proper tongue resting and breathing posture utilizing myofunctional therapy. Sarah is passionate about pediatrics, airway and helping other professionals understand the importance of airway and how it can impact the overall health of a child.
Sarah is also a Clinical Representative for YOUNG dental. She represents the dental hygiene products that YOUNG offers and offers clinical insight into which products might better benefit the clinician and the patient. She attends component meetings, does school presentations and attends vendor events to represent YOUNG dental.
Sarah enjoys writing and has been published in RDH Magazine and in the online publication, Dentistry IQ.
Sarah is also the creator of the “The Pediatric Hygienist” Facebook page. The page is a place where other dental professionals come together to learn more about managing the pediatric population in the dental setting. The page features interviews, product reviews and input from all areas of dentistry.
She is creative, driven and has an incredible desire to continually improve her knowledge in all things related to dentistry. She enjoys researching, learning about digital marketing, thinking of new product ideas and concepts and networking. Sarah plans to start exploring options in speaking and consulting in the future.
Meet Co-Host Catrina Houston
Catrina has been in the dental industry for over a decade. Prior to becoming a registered dental hygienist, Catrina was an assistant and gained knowledge from many aspects of the field. Currently, she practices part-time in general dentistry as well as works as a Clinical Rep for YOUNG dental. Catrina’s diverse experience allows her to connect and educate other dental health professionals on products that best fit their individual needs.
As a positive and enthusiastic dental professional, with an approachable and intuitive nature, Catrina is recognized for her skills in leadership, mentoring, and building strong interpersonal relationships. As an advisory board member for South Technical Dental Assisting program she enjoys collaborating with others as part of a dynamic team of oral health care professionals seeking excellence.
In her spare time she enjoys writing and is currently working on her first children’s book. She is patiently waiting her first article in the February addition of RDH magazine.
Catrina is very involved in her community and believes success is not about what you’ve gained at the end of the day but rather what you’ve given. She has started a learning garden at a local elementary school where all students have hands on learning experience, she participates in Give Kids a Smile bi-annually, volunteers at her church and is a CASA volunteer (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children.
Catrina has a passion for personal development and loves helping people find their passion. She is currently working toward becoming a performance coach with an emphasis on plant based nutrition.
